JINA Privacy and Licenses

Android permissions explained

To enable advanced features on some Android versions, Jina may asks you to grant some advanced permissions: you can decide from time to time whether to grant them or not.

Anyway keep in mind that, although some of these are very powerful, Jina will only use these permissions to run the advanced features that you will explicitly request during the usage.

For example, the Accessibility Service is required to collect app usage statistics that are used in the sort-by (last used, most used, last event...), or to check if the foreground app is included in the blacklist of the sidebar activation hotspots.

In the same way, if you set Jina as Assist App, she will only start the drawer at the long press of the Home button: she will not read and will never use the contents of the current screen.
