Data protection statement

To properly handle your installed apps, Jina needs to know them.

Do not worry, information about your apps is safe in your device's memory, however if you want to know more, you can continue reading.

Jina may need to access the internet to determine the categories of apps: to optimize this process it is used an external database, for some publicly available information about the apps (such as the play store category, whether it's a game, if it's free or paid, and so on).

Those interactions with the database are anonymous and there is nothing transmitted or stored that could identify you, or could establish any link between you or your device and the apps.

In any case, cached data are used exclusively by Jina, only for the purposes indicated above and are not shared with anyone.

Android permissions

To enable advanced features on some Android versions, Jina may asks you to grant some advanced permissions: you can decide from time to time whether to grant them or not.

Anyway keep in mind that, although some of these are very powerful, Jina will only use these permissions to run the advanced features that you will explicitly request during the usage.

For example, the Accessibility Service is required to collect app usage statistics that are used in the sort-by (last used, most used, last event...), or to check if the foreground app is included in the blacklist of the sidebar activation hotspots.

In the same way, if you set Jina as Assist App, she will only start the drawer at the long press of the Home button: she will not read and will never use the contents of the current screen.

Cookies and analytics

We DON'T use "cookies" and we don't collect device identifiers or users data directly or explicitly.

However, for a better user experience, we use third party services to monitor the usage of the Jina's features for proper operation.

Those third party services may contains code and libraries that can use "cookies" or similar techonlogies to collect information and to improve their services
